Teacher Workshops

The Java Engagement for Teacher Training Program (a.k.a. JETT) is a partnership between ACM's Computer Science Teachers Association and the College Board. JETT provides quality pedagogically-oriented workshops and resources in Java for secondary high school computer science teachers hosted by universities. In addition, the JETT program offers all secondary computer science educators a rich, centralized, online Java repository hosted by ACM.

JETT was developed to meet the immediate needs of secondary computer science educators in order to ramp up their knowledge of Java due to the Advance Placement (AP) language switch from C++ to Java. That's JETT's short-term goal!

Teacher Enrichment in Computer Science (TECS) workshops are designed to provide quality pedagogically-oriented programs and resources in computer science for teachers of courses described in levels 2-4 of the model curriculum [1]. While those courses are (officially) recommended for grades 9-12, we recognize that some schools offer courses which cover some of the topics described in those levels to students in earlier grades, so the workshops might also be useful for teachers of those courses. In this document we use the phrase "secondary" to be inclusive of courses that cover material from levels 2 - 4 in the model curriculum.
